VALUABLE HOMESTEAD DESTROYED. (By Telegraph —Per Press Association) BLENHEIM, July 2. About four o'clock this morning the homestead of J. F. Watts of Lansdowne, .'Wairau Valley, which was one of the show places of Marlborough, was completely destroyed by fire, together with the exceedingly valuable contents. The family, and staff escaped with difficulty, practically nothing being saved. Insurances £6,000 on building and £3,000 on contents both . in South British. The cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained. It appeared to originate in the roof and spread with extraordinary rapidity.
