WAGE CUTS

WESTPORT BOROUGH COUNCIL. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) ,1’ WESTPORT July 1. ,<• The Westport Borough Council tonight decided to make graduated cuts in the earnings of its staff. Salaries of £3OO and over, also the Mayor’s honorarium, will be subjected to a 10 per cent, cut; salaries of £2OO and upwards to a 7 a per cent. cut. and those with salareis below that, to a 5 per cent. cut. The wages of the workmen will be reduced by one shilling per day. A reduction of a half-penny in the pound was made in the rates by the j Borough Council this evening.
