The Franco-American negotiations, regarding the war debts, continue to be critical. They have proceeded almost till midnight, and will be resumed at 2 o’clock ou Wednesday. Mr Melton (U.S.A. Treasurer), is meanwhile- discussing the situation with President Hoover over the transAtlantic telephone. The chief point at issue-, is, as to when Germany shall repay her reparations instalments wlijch she would he let off with during the Hoover moratorium.
France asks to he repaid in five years. Mr Hoover proposes that France be repaid in twenty five years.
