BOXING
COOK BEATS O’AIALLEY
[by Telegraph, Fer Press Association.)
AUCKLAND, June 29. The heavy-weight boxing contest tonight between George Cook, the wellknown Australian, and Jack O’Malley, the holder of the light-lieavyweight championship of Australia, for a purse of £209 and expenses, was won by Cook on points. The contest was a disappointing one. The first seven rounds was very tame. Cook’s greater experience and his advantage of nearly a stone and a-hfllf j,i weight enabled him to hold the upper hand throughout, The referee was kept very busy in preventing the men from holding.
