In the Ryder Cup match at Columbus to day, Sarazen defeated Robson seven up and six to play.

Burke defeated Coinpstoii seven up and six.

Shiite defeated Bert Hudson eight up and six. Davies defeated Farrell four up and three.

Hagen defeated Charles Vi hitcombe four and three. Cox defeated Mitchell three and cue. Havers defeated Craig Moon four and three. Espinosa defeated Ernest Whitcoinbe two and one.

The United States thus has regained the Ryder Oup, the final scores being: .-United States nine, England three.

For the final of the Amateur Golf Championship of New South Wales, J. Ferrier defeated E. L. Appcrley, the title holder, one up.

Ferrier, who is only sixteen years' of age, stands six foot two inches high, and weighs fourteen stone. He is regarded as a phenomena,l golfer, as he has already beaten many first-class players in local competitions. He resides at Manly, where he holds the local championship. Both Apperlev and Ferrier played magnificent and sporting golf. Except for one hole in the afternoon (the Util.) where Apperlev took a seven, the match was in the balance to the last green. Ferrier was dormie three. He then lost the 34th. and 35th., and he halved the last hole.

The crowd was the largest, being a record, amd totalling nearly seven thousand.

Appcrley hitherto lias been am atom State champion fiye times. Ferrier’s coolness and gameness are remarkable, considering his extreme youth. The boy set such a pace that Appcrley had a stem fight all through. There was a thrill at every hole.
