FLOOD WATERS
COVER MILES OF LAND. LARGE LOSSES REPORTED. (Australian Press Association) (Received this day at 9.25 a.m) SYDNEY, June 27. Light rain fell over the flooded area yesterday. Wagga and Forbes are almost entirely surrounded by water several feet deep. Police at both plates lrad many narrow escapes in valiant attempts to rescue marooned settlers. 7 he rain lias ceased in northern Victoria but the rivers are still rising. Farms have suffered enormous damage. The flood waters cover many hundred miles.. It is estimated that millions of bushels of wheat will he lost.
