Thousands of homes are deserted. The damage to the crops is incalculable.

ALARM IN MANY TOWNS
, -SYDNEY, June 25. Messages from the -south-west indicate that there is growing alarm in many towns as the flood waters ate rising,
At Wugga and Jun.ee business is at a standstill and scores of residents awoke to find water swirling through their homes, ihe waters are pouring from Lake Albert, four miles away, into Wagga. this town is in grave danger, the iMurrumbidgee having risen to twentynine feet. A flow of twelve feet over the spillway of the Burrjnguck dam :s reported. Back waters overflowed on to surrounding property at Hay. The Mumimbidgee is more than six feet above the critical mark.
Conditions are equally disturbing on the Lachlan river. Forbes is safe, but ail low lying country is covered to a depth of.several feet. The main bridge over the Adelong creek was washed away and the main street a-t Ganmain is under four feet of water.
A recoiM flood is expected at’Tumut. 'Rain is still falling. Two others are reported missing and are believed to have been drowned in Billabong creek.

Heavy rain continues to fall over most of the flooded areas. The rivers are rising rapidly and the danger to human life- and stock is increasing. ilesidents in inland towns are tieWJming gravely alarmed. Thousands oE people- are- homeless, as the flood waters ure surrounding their homes, destroying farm property. The clanger is particularly acute at Wagga. Police rescued nine people from house tops, The stock loss has been tremendous.
Gundagai is inundated, while Wrana and Adelong are experiencing the worst floods for forty years.
Rivers in north-western Victoria area are still rising and Fallangatta is isolated. The water is feet deep in the main streets.
Flooded homes are general in many other towns.
