AUCKLAND, June 23
Jack O’Malley, a former Greymouth boy, returned to New Zealand by • the Ulimaroa. Two years ago he was unknown in the boxing world, to-day he holds the light-heavy' and the heavyweight titles of : Australia. Sammy Chapman, promoter and trainer, accompanied him. O’Malley, who is 23 years bf age, weighs 12st 91bs, and is over six feet* in Height-, has had 33 fights and has lost only tivo, to Bundren, the American, and to Thompson. o"Mailey fights George Cook, the globe-trotting Australian. at the Auckland Town Half on Monday next, June 29th. When they last met at the West M^bourn 0 ,Stadium, O’Malley was knocked cold after .the bell bad sounded for the conclusion of the fifth vow'd. The bout was awarded to Cook, but when the referee realised that a, mistake had been made owing to his not having heard the pong, he ‘started the hovs again and O'Malley scored a points victory.
