DEIST CASES

Ellen Brown (Mr Murdoch) v. D. Bannister, claim £4 Is 4d. Judgment for plaintiff with costs 25s 6d. Other cases were either settled or adjourned. POLICE CASES. Two residents of Ross, found on licensed premises after hours (City Hotel, Ross) were ordered to pay costs IDs each.

The Police charged a young man (Mr Murdoch) with theft of £6 and £5 from his employer. Sergt. King stated ( restitution was being made ana the employer was willing to overlook, the present lapse and continue employment. Mr Murdoch supported the: past excellent character, and asked for suppression of the name. His Worship isa-id under the special circumstances lie would convict the accused oil both charges, and grant probation for one year, subject to a prohibition order being taken out and that lieabstain from gambling and frequenting billiard rooms, with restitution of the money. His Worship ordered the name to be suppressed. Borough Inspector (Mr Park) v. J, Innas, a charge of riding a motor reiik’la without a: proper number plate thereon. Pined 20s and costs 2Qs Gd, game v. Ed. Lewis, a charge of. using a motor cycle without a proper plate and unlicensed, Fined 20« and costs 20s 6d. 1

Same v. H. Preston, v n charge of failing to have a rear light on motor car after sunset. Fined 5s and costs 20s Gd.
