The New Zealand cricketers continued their match against (Northamptonshire in 'fine weather., Bellamy was unable to bat owing to injury. Play op.ned sensationally, Lowry bowling 1 g theory, round the wicket, took three cheap wickets, Timms and Cox with successive balls. Bake well again struck form and batted with confidence and vigour. PETERBOROUGH. June 23. The New Zealanders gained a merit- *• orious victory ovtr Northamptonshire by six wickets. Bakcwelj and Woolley added ninety for the fourth wicket, the remaining batsmen making a poor showing Bgainst Merritt, adding only 39 Bakewell was unL Gated. Throughout his innings an occasional tendency to nibble at the ball outside the off could • not spojl a fine effort of 173 minutes. He hit eleven fours, A feature of the New Zealand attack was Lowry’s bowling. In the last two matches he has bowled accurately and with design and fully dessmd the ■wickets.
