STATE CONTROL. NEW PLYMOUTH, June 23. Ihe North Taranaki Radio Society, which was formed originally to further the establishment of Station 2A’B New Plymouth, has passed the following motion ; “That, in view of the an. nouceinent by the Postinaster-Ceneral that the Government -intends to assume active control of radio broadcasting in New Zealand, this meeting r p cords its emphatic disagreement with such proposal, iit urges that as the present licensees have pioneered the service up to date, they be given an extension of the-ir licenses for a further period, after which the position could be' Reviewed, if necessary.
