A DOUBLE ACCIDENT

DUE TO BOLTING HORSES. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) WHANGARET, June 22. ' A double accident of a sensational nature occurred on Turntable Hill near near Kawakawa on Saturday evening Geo. Halliday was driving a buggy and two Inorses when the, animats wci*'. frightened at the lights of a car loaded with footballers. The horses bolted, til© buggy was capsized and Halliday had both forearms broken. The frightened animals galloped along the road until they collided and a ear driven towards Whangarei. The driver was stunned by the impact, hut instantly turned the car into a hank and applied the brakes as the machine began to back into a deep ravine. He was taken to Kawakawa hotel but later waitable to return to Whangarei .where he is in bed suffering from shock and badly bruised arm.
