GAS EXPLOSION
PARTLY WRECKS A HOUSE. (By Telegraph. — I’er I'ress Attoeiahon) AUCKLAND, June 21. ' Two rooms in a house in Newton Road were wrecked by an explosion of ga,s to-day, when the owner, William Probert, aged 83 year, went, to investigate a leakage, and struck a match. Portion of the side wall of the bouse was blown out, also a window, and its frame was thrown some distance, whilst the ceiling in one rc-mri was brought down. Presort was not injured, although he suffered - from shock, and bis face was sin Wed. F s s 'wife was the onlv '•-r occupant of the house. She' escaped injury.
