The "Journal’s"’ special Rome correspondent interviewed Mussolini and asked what was the exact point of friction between the Church and State. Mussolini replied that at the head of the Catholic Aetionists are rhe failures and disgruntled members of the old popular party, who have a grudge, against us over the oriention of their policy. The Vatican has been put on its guard against the peril of this extreme policy, which may awaken anti-clericalism, the dormant existence of which the Vatican well knows.
