The motor ship Burmude, of twenty thousand .tons, operated by Furness Burmude line between here and New York, sank, at the pier to-day. The bridge superstructure burned away, the stern resting on the bottom. Fjre broke out in the elevator shaft necessitating the flooding of the stern tanks. ‘ .

Four men were badly burned. There was no loss of life and no passengers were aboard.
