MEMBER RESIGNS
When the Board met at 2 p.m. the Commissioner (Mr T. Cagney). stated that is was with regret he had heard that Mr L. R. Gibb had l-esigried hns position a.s a member of the Board. He had been exceedingly sorry .to heal of the resignation especially as. Mr Gibb had been a member when he (Mr AvOh'N), iiffd Jpin§d .GieJtoard.'as. Gwh*. missioner, 15 month* ago. .Mr Gibb had filled the position' Nvjth great honour. He was a man of few words but bis, opinion was always valuable to the Board. He regretted the resignation, but wished him well in the future.
Mr *B. Ward as the senior member also expressed his. regret at the resignation of Air Gibb.- He was a practical man who knew the good and bad points of the land in South Westland. HE advice was very valuable as he was fair man in every respect. He regretted the severing of the pleasant relation:-, that had always existed between them. Mr W. 'Clayton regretted that . Mr Gibb had seen fit to resign./He had a wide experience of South Westland, and his opinion was always valued by the Board. He extended good wishes for the future. Mr J. Rvall generally endorsed . th? remarks of the previous speakers. ■Mr Gibb had filled his position as a membt - of the Board in a very able manner, and he regretted he had found it necessary to resign his position. The Board then proceeded wjth the general business.
