THEFT FROM CAR. ‘ (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) GISBORNE, June 17. A commercial traveller of an Auckland firm on arrival at Gisborne last evening, parked his car in front of an hotel and after dinner found his full' range of samples bad been removed from the car. Frank Norman Lunken was chargee! at the Police Court with stealing goods valued at £‘73, the property of Sargood. Son and Ewen. He was remanded ior a week.

A new method of physical training is to be introduced into the Masterton schools through a grant made by the Masterton Trust Lands Trust last night. The method, according to statements made by a. deputation of primary and secondary school headmasters which waited upon tlie trust, is fostered by Air Renfrew White, of Dunedin. During Air R. A. Wright’s term as -Minister of Education the department became interested in the scheme, and sent several teachers from the Wellington Training College to Dunedin to specialise in the new system of drill. These teachers, instructed at a cost of between £4OO and £SOO each, are now released, but the Government, owing to the financial stringency, cannot place them in employment. The deputation waited upon the trust with a, request lor financial assistance in order to engage one of these teachers, Aliss AI. Hunn, for a period of three mouths. The trust finally approved a grant of £42 10s for this purpose. !;:l

Game Fish Chili, has been presented to the Bay of Islands Club, which is to hold it for the coming year. The trophy is awarded each year to tlie club a member of which catches the largest fish i 4 iring the season. The Bay of Islands won the world’s record mako shark of 798 lb., which was secured by Air H. White AVickha.ni. of Loudon. On behalf of the Wliangaroa Club, which previously held the trophy. Air Stanley Ellis, of Hamilton. who won it for his club last season, handed it over to the secretary of the Bay of Islands Club, Air H, Stonex.
