FOOTBALL
WEST COAST RUGBY UNION. The Committee met at Greymouth last evening. it was decided to write the Me rival e Clue asking that a team be sent to 'Greymouth on August Ist. 'Mr L. Dewe, referee of the Rivals v. United match at Kumara on Saturday last, reported that during the course of the game he had occasion to order two players C. Moffitt (United) and 'C. Pfahlert '{’Rivals), off the field for fighting.
Mr Kyle moved that the players concerned be asked to attend the next meeting of the Union, and tailing attendance, to give a written explanation of their conduct. The motion was seconded by Mr Mclntosh and carried-. ( Mr O’Donnell moved that the players be stood down until their cases are dealt with. Mr White seconded the motion, which was lost bv nine votes to six.
The meeting then when into committee to consider a Tetter;- from the Rival Club regarding the incident in the United v. Rivals match I.lst Saturday. The following fixtures were arranged for 'Saturday next, June 20th :
Senior; (Excelsior v. Rivals at Hokitika, 1.30 p.m. ; Rlaketrtwn v. Stars at f'ohdeii, 1-30 p.m. (Mr Mclntosh): Cobden v. United at Cobdon, 3 p.m. (Mr >*. Williams.- '
