ELECTION OF OFFICERS,

WELLINGTON, June 15,

The Rev. J. R- Blanchard wins unanimously elected to succeed the retiring president, the Rev. W. J. C.omrie, nt the final session of the annual meeting of the New Zealand Alliance,

The following vice-presidents were elected Messrs F. B, Adams, H. S. Adams, A. R. Atkinson, T. H. Macky, J. McCombs, M.P., H. E. Pocey, H. G. Sullivan, M.P.. J- S. Baxter, (.. Bellringer, L. E. Faulkner, F. A. Feist F. Ferriman, W. J. Helyer, W. D. A. R. Laidlaw, C. M. Luke, Bishop Bennett, Ven. Archdeacon Lmit-iertori, Rev. J. Cocker, Rev. A\. ,J. Comrie, Commissioner Cunninghame, Hon. Sir G. Fowlds, Hon. J. B. Gow, M.L.C., Hon. A. F. Hawke, Hon. L. M. Issit, M.L.C., Rev. J. Paterson, and the Hon. A. J. Stallworthy. Mr A. IT. Ivory was unanimously elected hon. treasurer. The following standing committee was elected: —Messrs F. G. Spratt, A. R. Atkinson, F. A. Feist, W. J. Helyer, W. S, Bruce, S. T. S'. Martin, W. D. Hunt, C. R. Edmond, Rev. T. W. Vealie, Hon. L. M. Issit, M.L.C., Rev. H. J. Odell, Lieutenant-Colonel Burton, Mrs Perryman, and the Rev. J. Hubbard. In connection with Air Comrie’s retirement, the following resolution was adopted:—“That this annual meeting of the New Zealand Alliance records its deep appreciation of the lifelong service rendered to the Prohibition cause by Mr Comrie, and especially of bis invaluable aid during two terms as president. It rejoices to know that while laid aside at present, he hopes soon to be able to take his place as heretofore in the front rank of our forces.’ 1

A motion expressing appreciation of the services of Air F. A. Feist, who for number of- years lias been lion, treasurer, and who had expressed a wish, to retire from that office was carried.
