BEGINNING NEXT MONTH. \ll ~ 1 <l l IH i r‘r \-m- A 1 111 N (Received this day at. 8 a in.) MELBOURNE, June 16. Preparations for the Empire Wool Conference beginning next week, are now being made by tin* Australian' Woolgiwcrs Council which opened tilt annual convention to-day.

The Council unhesitatingly reaffirmed the decision to oppose any plan for fixing wool prices? Further, that the Council keep in touch with the London market and endeavour to arrange the allocation in such a manner that large quantities of wool will not lie offered in London and Australia simultaneously. It was resolved to try and obtain substantial reductions in freights, and also wait upon the Prime Minister and get relief from the high cost of production by lowering the tariff and taxation.
