This evening, IYA will relay from tlie Town Hall, the concert to be given by the Municipal Baud, under the conductors!] ip of Mr Geo. Buckley. The final concert of the Wellington Radio Exhibition this evening will be relayed by 2YA. At 9'p.ni, the session. will be continued from the Concert Chamber of the Wellington Town Hall, when the programme, given by the Wellington Commercial Travellers’ and Warehousemen’s Association M a le Voice Choir will be broadcast. Tbe }T]oyoos Pair (singling cabaret songs at the piano with ukelele), Miss Elaine Moody’s Hawaiian Quartet (with vocal refrains by Miss Moody), Mr David McGill (the popular 'tenor whose items will he “Annie Laurie,” “At Dawning.” “The Carnival” and Roses of Forgiveness”), The Mascots (acting a twenty-minutes’ sketch) and the Studio Octet, under Mr Harold Beck, 'will pfiovidte /lYA’s vaudeville programme, which will also be broadcast by 4YA.
MONDAY, .JUNE 15th. The weekly “'Musical Portrait” from '2\A this evening will be another aspect o! I Mendelssohn. This portion of the programme will be relayed from Taranaki Street Methodist Church. Mr H. Temple W hite will play as organ solos the graceful “Spring Song” and “Cornelius March” and with Miss Ziflah Castle, L.A.8., violiniste, will present the “Andante” from Mendelssohn’s “Concerto in E (Minor.” lwo of Mendelssohn’s part songs -will be sung by a mixed quartette, also from the church. An outstanding number from the Studio will be a quartette, “Dawn’s /Awakening” sung by the ever-popular Ariel Singers. This is a very beautiful arrangement of a number from Grieg’s “Peer Oynt Suite” and has not previously been performed at 2YA. The Orchestrina will provide accompaniments for most of the vocal items.
Mr E. J. .Bell, Librarian at the Public Library, Christchurch, is to give monthly reviews of books from 3YA. These, with the monthly talks now given by Mr E. E. Wiltshire, President of the LinwoocT Publ'c Library, will provide 3YA listeners with a review every fortnight. Mr Wiltshire’s reviews will be confined to fiction, while Mr Bill wi 11 deal with other writings.
3YA’s programme for this evening w'dl be provided by tbe Wools ton Band, iin(Per Mr R. J. E'st’all, 3YA artists being Mrs/ L. 8.. Saikeld '(soprano), .Miss Margaret Richardson (contralto), Mr /Leslie, A. Stewart (baritone). Mr Charles Dewhurst (bass-baritone) and Mr Harold G. Shaw (humor'st). Bandsman ROhlson will contribute a cornet solo and Bandsman E. Williams will play a trombone solo.
The speaker for the International lecturette from 4YA, will be Professor Benham. His theme will be “Tbe Development of the International Outlook, based on a recent tour in Foreign Lands, with special reference to Algeria-” .Silent day at IYA.
