MISS COOPER’S FLAT

INTRUDER CHARGED (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) v AUCKLAND, June 12, A man was arrested last evening on a charge of breaking and entering the dwelling of Fay Cooper, and stealing furniture, bedding and clothing of a total value of £7o. He is Charles Henry Frederick Pillow, aged 22 years, a motor mechanic.

He appeared in the Police Court today. Detective-Sergeant Kelly obtained a remand.

In asking for bail, Pillow said that he did not break and enter the flat. "Anyway, she owed me a debt of £lo,’’ said the accused. “As soon as I saw in the paper yesterday that it was reported as a burglary, I went straight and saw a solicitor about it.” Air Kelly: "He thinks one may go in off the street and take other people’s property.”
