AUSTRALIAN FLOODS
CAUSE SERIOUS DAMAGE. BRIDGES WASHED AWAY. (Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, June 12. Serious flooding occurred in a. number of places on the Murrumbidgee and Tumut Rivers. TJIO whole of Tum.ut Valley is under water. Police rescued several marooned families in boats.
Extensive damage was done to crops. A large concrete bridge over Hillia’s creek on the Svdney-Melbourne road was carried away. Several other bridges were washed away in Allmry and Wagga districts. There is a fear of serious floods, as the rivers are still rising.
