GUARDS ON PARADE

TROOPING THE COLOURS. PICTURESQUE CEREMONY. (British Official Wireicss.) RUGBY. June G. The annual ceremony of trooping the colour took place in bright sunshine on the Horse Guards Parade this morning. An immense crowd witnessed the picturesque ceremonial, which was also watched by the Queen, 1 lie Princess Alary, the- Duchess / ot York and the grandchildren of the King and Queen, were in the Royal Party. When the King rode on to the parade ground In* was accompanied by his sons, the Prince of Wales, the Duke of York and the Duke of Gloucester. The cheers which followed his Majesty along the Mall were vigorously taken up. The Earl of Harewood also rode with the King, and his coy sin, Prince Arthur of Connaught, and MajorGeneral the Earl of Athlone, brother of Queen Mary attended.

Among the distinguished foreign visitors who witnessed the ceremony were the German statesmen,Dr Bruiting and Dr. Curtins. A total of sixtv-seven officers and 1800 other ranks participated in the ceremonies and the music was rendered by the bands of the Royal Horse Guards, the Grenadier, Coldstream. Scots, Trisli and Welsh Guards, and by the drums, fifes and pipers of the Guards' regiment.
