Grand and common jurors, summoned to attend the Supreme Court sitting at Hokitika are further notmed that their services are required on Monday nest, loth, inst at 10.30 a.m.
A reminder is given of the pre-ses-sional address by Mr James O’Brien. Member tor Westland in the Town Hall to-night. The Mayor will take the chair at 7.30 p.m. At the conclusion of the address, questions are invited.
There was apparently very little interest taken this year in the annual meeting of the Westland Licensing Committee. Beyond a couple of licensees the body of the court was clear, while though there was the usual appearance of counsel, the Inspector of Health, the Police did not appear in their usual force, Sergeant King and one constable representing the Force, the Inspector not putting in his special annual appearance. The absence os any complaints, except for some minor repairs, must be accepted as very complimentary to tbe general body of licensees throughout the district.
