The “Times” in a leader, congratulates Australia on the Couiereiice decision, and says a great national sacrifice is contemplated, which to be equitable must be accepted by every section of the nation. Nothing would contribute more powerfully to restore Australia’s credit than the success of the appeal for the conversion of the millions of .internal debt, Jt is a. great sacrifice to ask, but Australians have Wive)’ yet, failed to respond to mi appeal to their patriotism and are r,ot likely to fail now, when the need for the sacrifice lias made so dear and lias become so urgent.
