. BREAKS ALL RECORDS. [United Press Association. —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright, j WASHINGTON, June 8. Rev. George Brown, a coloured pastor, of the Mount Zion Baptist Church claims the world’s record of the long est sermon. It lasted lor twelve hours and ten minutes. He preached it on Sunday, using 88,794 words. Four lambs chops, a leg of chicken, and a glass of, milk sustained him through the ordeal.
His first subject was gambling. He occupied three hours on this. Then “Companionate Marriage” carried him along until dark, Prohibition and the Evil of Dancing occupied him in the early evening. The famine as a subject was reached at ten o’clock, when he finished the chicken. Then lie resumed strongly and kept going until midnight.
