FATAL FIRE
THREE LIVES LOST. (Australian Press Association.) HOBART, June 8. Three lives were- lost in a fire which destroyed an eight-roomed, weatherboard house at Pontville early tins morning. The victims are:—William Sidney, aged 84; Emma Sidney, aged 80, and their : grand-daughter, Jean Finlayson. The fire was noticed by a baker going to work at two a.m. Mrs T<’mlayson escaped with three children. The others were trapped.
NEW SOUTH WALES FIRES. SERIOUS DAMAGE. SYDNEY, June 8. Five business premises were burned at Ballina this morning. The damage is estimated at twelve thousand sterling. The Courthouse Hotel, at Peterson, a’so on the North Coast, was destroy'd by fire. The loss is estimated at six thousand sterling.
