SPENDTHRIFT YOUTH
DEALT WITH BY COURT. AUCKLAND, June 3. A youth who a week ago was charged with having a revolver in his possession appeared on remand in the Police Court to-day. It was stated that re had “the flying bug,” and although he had 110 flying exeprienee proposed going to Sydney, buying Mr Oscar Garden’s ’plane and flying to England. Chief-Detective Hammond said that the youth was 21 years of age and had reecntly been left a Considerable sum by his mother. The Probation Officer said that something would have to be done as the youth was going through his money like water. “The sooner lie goes broke the better,” remarked a brother-in-law, who was in Court. The Magistrate (Mr Hunt): What? You want me to let him go to Sydney among those spielers over there ? The brother-in-law; It would be the best thing that could happen, The Magistrate: What about getting this money tied up? Me Hammond: The sooner the better.
