CANADIAN TRADE. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 5.' ' The Government’s decision to deprive the Canadian imports o. the Bruise Imperial tariff concessions and place them on the general list was discussed by the Frink* Minister. Mr Forbes in an interview, said that it was possible in view of liie action taken that Canada would now see lit to send a Almister to New Zealand to carry on eon\eisation.s with a view to reaching a mutually advantageous settlement. No official communication on tile question has been received. Mr Iforbey said that be had been forced to show a. strong hand in view of the complete failure of the Canadian Government to listen to New Zealand’s representations ever since it was decided in April of last year that its exports of butter to Canada should be subject to an increased du,ty. The Government was still willing to negotiate, but could not allow the butter market to be destroyed withut taking some form of effective retaliation.
