The authorities here are now following tin* trail of death extending bask for twenty-five years in investigating the strange case of Mrs Margaret Sumers, a grey-haired roominghou.sekeeper. She is a woman of apparently the most pleasant and harmless type. She is accuse 1 of a. wholesale series of murders, by arsenic, of persons who died leaving her their insurance benefits. While the. woman tearfully asserted that she never killed anyone, the Coroner reported on his inquiry into the deaths of ten men, including five of All’s Summer’s husbands. She has now been formally charged with poisoning her last husband, her nephew and three of her hoarders. CHICAGO, May 31. The number of deaths where in Mrs Sutm»crs( cabled earlier) is supected has increased to nineteen.
