The’ tribute workers at Charming Creek. Buller, who wore forced to leave on Tuesday lost by organised miners, returned yesterday. There has been a large force of Police gathered from Canterbury, Wellington and Coast, under Inspector Fitzpatrick of Greymouth, those going from Hokitika being Constables Dougherty and Drummond. It is understood that work on tribute at Charming Creek coal mine is to be resumed this week. There was no disorder or trouble yesterday.
The indications ar e for southerly moderate to strong winds. Weather probably cold and •changeable with some showers but improving later. Barometer rising. Seas roug«, tides good.
