Billy Arnold, of Chicago, last year s winner was apparently a sure winner again, when lie was forced bill by a collision ninety-five miles from the finish. Rain postponed the start until noon, anct several times it slowed the races up. The attendance was about one Hundred and fifty thousand. "There were a number of smash-ups and minor injuries, but,none tv;is serious.
