The Treasury statement showed that with the ordinary receipts declining to tlie extent of 560 million dollars duiing the current fiscal year the Government expenditure had exceeded the receipts by one million 792 thousand 431 dollars a? on the 26th of May, and this trend is expected to be continued to a point where the deficit total on the 15th of June, is contemplated to be neat one billiqn fi v e hundred million dollars.
