RADIO PROGRAMME

(Supplied by the Radio Broadcasting Company of N.Z. Ltd.) FRIDAY, MAY 29th. A hoy-soprano in the person oi Master Ivan Dunn, will make his first appearance at IYA this evening. Tnis lad possesses a voice that will please listeners. Mister ltee, always a welcome entertainer, will dispense “Radio Magic.” The popular bassbaritone, Air Albert Gibbons Taylor, will sing several numbers, also Mr Frank Campbell, another one of Auckland’s outstanding broadcasters, will be heard again. Mr J. M. Clark and Miss Joyce Houkl, elocutionists, will give a scene from “The Honeymoon”' (by Tobin) and also a scene from “Humlet.” Instrumental items will be given by the Orchestral Octet. 2YA’s programme this evening will consist of the broadcast on relay from the Victoria University College, Wellington, of a. debate entitled “That Democracy is a Failure;” Margherita Zeimula, coloratura soprano, who has been appearing at the YA stations under special engagement to the Broadcasting Company, will be featured at 3YA A vaudeville turn in song and patter, the artists being Air Les. Griimmitt (at the pia.no) and Air Albert Carlisle (tenor) will, also form part of the evening’s programme. Miss Alaisie Ottey, talented pianiste, will be heard in light classical numarid java novelties. Alozzo-cou-traito solos will be contributed by Mrs N. Bingham Puddey, always an attractive performer. A bright instrumental programme will he provided by the Studio Octet.

The popular Select. Four of 4YA will be heard in some well known concerted numbers. As solos, Betty Hamilton will sing. “The Second Alinuet” and “Love’s Old Sweet Song.” Air J. E. Davies (tenor) will contribute “The Bard of Armagh” and “'Alary of Argvle.” As a bass solo, Mr E. Bond will sing “Travellers All.” Humour will be contributed by Air Lester F. Aioller. A brigui. programme will he provided by the Instrumental Sextette.

SATURDAY, MAY 30tli. This evening, IYA will relay a concert to he given in the Auckland Town Hall by the Municipal Band, under the direction of Mr George Buckley. At 7.40 at 2YA. a lecturette under the auspices of the VV.E.A. will he given by Professor C. A. C’otton, Professor of Geology, Victoria University College, oil “Causes of Earthquakes.”' A feature -of 2YA’s evening concert session will be a one-act comedy, “Rent Free,” to he played bv Mr and Mi's J. W. Bailey, the Auckland entertainers. The Melodie Four will supply the vocal portion of he programme. They will he heard in quartettes and solos. The Salon Orchestra will play' the incidental music. For this evening’s variety pro i gramme from 3YA (relayed to 4YA) (he contributing artists will he Mr .lock Lockhart (Scottish humorist), Mrs H. Turnbull (mezzo-soprano), Mr T. D. Williams (baritone), Miss Irene Morris, (violiniste), Mr Norman G. Coffin (cornetist), the Hilo Harmony Four (with steel guitars and ukulele) and the Studio Trio.
