Briand’s implacable opponent moving the immediate replacement ot the boreistil Minister owing to his failures at Geneva, and inability to combat the Austro-German Union. He also objected to Mr Henderson’s Presidentship at the Disarmament Conference, nml would have preferred AT. Benes. He added that M. Briand through the support of members of the leit. was now virtually leader of the Opposition. M. Briand vigorously replied and said M. Benes did not want, to preside at the Disarmament Conference. The motion was lost by 318 to 261.
