It is many years since the notification of infectious diseases has reached so low a level as that of April, accordincr to a reoort by the Public Health Committee to Wednesday’s meeting of the North Canterbury Hospital Board. The decrease was particularly noticeable in scarlet fever cases. The total number of notifications was 43, including four of scarlet fever. During .April 32 patients were treated at the Infectious Disoase s Hospital, and the number remaining on April 30th. was 12—-the lowest for a great many years.
