The police charged ;l resident with being on licensed premises (Commercial Hotel) after hours. After hearing the evidence of defendant and Constable Best, the explanation of- defendant was accepted and the charge dismissed.
Police v. J. J. Morgan (Mr Murdoch) a. charge against the licensee of, Masonic Hote] of selling after hours, opening for•sale and assisting in the salo of liquor. A plea, of not. guilty was entered. After hearing ' the evidence of Constable Best and Sergeant King, a claim by Mr Murdoch that there was no case to answer, was upheld by the Magistrate and the charge dismissed.
