Messrs H. J. Bignell and R. Wild reported to the Canterbury Education Board on Friday last that after their inspection visit to Hokitika school they were prepared to endorse the Foreman’s recommendations with respect to the Committee’s application for the conversion of a shelter shed into a classroom to provide for the in creased roll number. Tt was resolved therefore that the following work be authorized:—(a) Shifting, back oi partition wall in shelter 5 feet in order to provide a room 20ft. x 20ft.; flooring of shelter with T. and G. flooring; lining of shelter throughout; provision of windows in northern wall for lighting; placing of vent sashes in southern wall; installation of a slow combustion stove (cost £llO 10s): (b) Placing of wooden floor in the second shelter shed where at present. there is only a gravel floor.
