SHOOTING ACCIDENT
FARMER BADLY WOUNDED,

TIMARU, May 26
While hunting a weasel at his farm at Waitawa this- afernoon, Selwyn Jackson, a farmer, accidentally discharged a shotgun he was carrying and portion of the shot entered the back of his head, causing a serious wound which, however, i. 4; not likely to prove fatal.
Dr W. C.\ Burns was communicated with and Jackson was removed to a private hospital at Timaru. A report to-night stated that the effect of the’ shot was wearing off and he was progressing satisfactorily. The mvghhour heard a report and found Jackson lying on the ground It is not known how the gun went off.
