Mr W. W. Massey the successful candidate for Hauraki, is the eldest son of the late Rt. Hon. W. F. Massey. lie has always been active in local body work in the district in which he lives, and in the work of the Auckland Agricultural and Pasoral Associaion. of which he was president for five years from 1925. For several years lie lias represented combined agricultural and pastoral associations in the Auckland provincial district on the New Zealand Board of Agriculture, and lias also been joint president of the Auckland Winter Exhibition. Mr Massay’s brother, Mr J. X. Massey, is M.P. for Franklin, and h's uncle, Mr John Massey has un uec-essfullv ccnte t ed an election in the Momikau ronstituneoy. Mr W. W. Massey has not been a candidate before.

At last meeting of the Canterbury Education Board a report was presented by the Chairman of the Buildings Committee in regard lo the Doflierty’s Creek Committee’s suggestion that the old Watnroa School he removed to Docherty’s Creek and used for the accommodation of the children in the district. Air Bignell recommended that the building he removed and necessary repairs and replacements carried out. Tn the event of this work being put in hand the Committee communicated its ngreeable. npss to provide a cleared site: nav lorrv 'charges for shifting the building from Watnroa to Docherty’s Creek: supply ni]es; erect n light fence in front of doorways. Tt was resolved that the report he adopted and the Committee thanked for its offer.
