A twin-motored experimental aeroplane “The Blue Streak” owned by the “Daily News,” crashed. Apparently this was due to structural failure. She fell while trying to set record’ for speed with a leaded plane. The crash killed Shirley Sort, a wellknown flier, who was the newspaper’s chief pilot, and his co-pilot, mechanic and radioman.
