STRATFORD, May 26

A statement by Mr Coates in the. Hauraki by-election campaign that Mr Poison, M.P., president of the Farmers’ Union, was not keen on having animal foods admitted duty free to New Zealand is challenged by Mr Poison, who said that lie bad always urged the tree admission of all stock food. “Hansard discloses,” said Mr Poison, “that when Mr Coates moved the amendment referred to, I said I hoped it was a genuine attempt to relieve the stock' breeder and farmer.
