New Zealand declared the second innings with 190 for 4. Dempster played one on early and Cromb and Kerr were, dismissed rapidly. After lunch a fine partnership between Weir and James added 106 for the fourth wicket. It was particularly pleasing to see Weir strike, his Now Zealand form for tins first time of the tour, Ho scored a Ceiltury ill two hours, in marked contrast with his first' inning's display. James also attacked the howling. Vivian kept his wicket intact to allow Weir to reach his century. Glamorgan to win required to make 279 in 110 minutes. Steady bowling and keen fielding saw five down for 54. Duckfield and Bel) then became associated in an unbroken partnership, saving the County from defeat.
