man steals clock from car.

MASTERTON, May 22. While G. H. Couehman was, together with some other men, inspecting a car which had gone over the bank at Makurj, be surrendered to a sudden temptation and took a clock which was in the damaged vehicle. The clock was missed, according to the Aery told by the police in the Pahiatua Magistrate’s Court, where Couehman was charged with theft, and all commenced to hunt for it. The Magistrate. Mr J. Miller, took into consideration that the theft had been committed on the spur of the moment, and imposed a fine of £2. Couehman was also ordered to pay 12s 6d for damage done to the clock. Default was fixed at s even days’ imprisonment.
