RECOVERED SIGHT. SYDNEY FOOTBALLER’S JuV. LONDON, May 14. Rov Kendrick,' the young blind footballer from Canterbury (Sydney) has not hoped in vain for the recovery of his eyesight. After years of waiting and striving, lie has. in a measure at least, been rewarded for his ‘‘faith.” The oculists consider Kendrick's recovery to be a phenomenal one. He came to Loudon totally blind. Now he has left for home, able to see with his right eye. and there is even a chance that his other eye will recover, Kendrick was blinded by a football injury. Months of treatment and several operations left him still blind when lie came here to see if the specialists could do anything for him. Ho is now able to do light outdoor work, and hopes to secure suitable employment in Sydney. He was befriended while jn England by Mr A. Whitelaw, of Melbourne, who also arranged for his passage home oh the Moreton Bay. the Commonwealth and Dominion Line reducing the fare. It was Mr Whitelaw who presented Don Bradman with £IOOO when he made his record Test score in 1930.
