ADDRESS TO RAILWAYMEN. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 22. Being bombarded with a running fU'o of interjections from the time that he mounted an improvised platform until the whistle sounded for the men to resume work, the Hon. S. G, Smith, Minister of Labour, was prevented from delivering a connected address to a meeting of Railway Workshop employees at Otahuhu to-day.

An appeal by the chairman at tho outset for a fair and impartial hearing for the Minister fell on deaf ears. The result was a verbal duel between Mr Smith and his hearers,

At the conclusion of the meeting, a \ote of confidence in the Labour Party was carried unanimously.
