KOKATAHI STOCK SALE

The weather conditions were unpleasant but notwithstanding there was a good attendance of buyers and a very large entry of all kinds of stock. Competition was good ioi sheep and lambs but there was a marked easing in cattle prices. Anything prime brought its value but for old and half fat cows of which the yarding was well supplied there was a lack of bidding. The one outstanding line oi steers for Mr - ; Meharry ,■ passed ,at £9/2/6 not reaching 1 ‘owners idea' ‘ct' value. A pen of iat ewe s for Mr H. A. Boddington made 15/6 and a pen of wethers for ,Mr Moynihan 14/3, quite equal, to .'Addington rates.. )The total yarding- comprised * 276 sheCp and lambs, 4 pigs and 262 cattle. The following sales were recorded: — For W. Houston. ,20 lambs at 9/9.. For Mark-Wallace 8 'lambs at 97- and 10 ewes at 9/-. For M. Moynihan 27 wethers at 14/3. For H. A. Boddington 3 ewes at 15/6. For N. Harris 5 lahlbs at iO/- and 14 ewes at 10/-. For It. Preston 73 ewes at 8/-. For Y. Banal- 25 elves at 8/-. For T. Ecclesfield-20 ewes at 10/8. For G, Shannon, 4 porkers at 33/6. For Q. Cook C <spWs at £3/10/-, 2 do at £2/15;-, 1 do at £3.' For A. Nolan 1 cow at £l.
