She. pleaded selJ-de-ence on the ground of her husband s cruelty, and she was acquitted. She received a tremendous ovation outside the court. It was realised that she had married her husband three times. When she first married him she discovered he was a bigamist. The then divorced' him; but she then remarried him. The pair were divorced a few months latei. and they were married for- the* thud time two years ago.
