In the Amateur Golf Championship at "’estward Ho, John. T)e Forest and Martin Smith of Royal Saint. George’s reached the final. De Forest- is Surrey champion and Martin Smith gets a Cambridge University golf blue this year. All foreign including the much fancied American George Doight were defeated in the earlier rounds.
